Nathan Fillion’s Birthday Wish

nathan fillionGeek icon Nathan Fillion celebrated his 42nd birthday yesterday. Fans admire his ruggedly handsome good looks, as well as his work in the short-lived space western Firefly, current series Castle, and other movie projects, including Slither.

He has almost 1.7 million followers on Twitter (@NathanFillion), and to celebrate his day, he asked them to donate money to his clean water campaign. His previous charity water campaign raised more than $60,000, and his current campaign goal is $100,000.

Nathan’s message:

Obligatory guilt inducing statement: Millions of kids around the world don’t see their 5th birthday because they don’t have clean water.

Let it sit. Think about it. Good.

Last year, you helped celebrate my birthday by building 12 wells for over 3000 people. That’s something none of us can do on our own, but together with My Charity Water it’s a piece of cake. But, don’t send cake. We want water. Let’s build even more wells this year.

Did I mention we get to decide what the plaques on the wells say? Start thinking now. No reason this can’t be humanitarian and hilarious at the same time.

Thank you in advance, for being amazing right now.
